Why Gareth Bale is facing uncertain Real Madrid future amidst UK's Brexit chaos

I
Bale joined Real in 2013 for a then world-record £85.3 million and has helped them to three Champions League titles in five seasons.
But if the UK leaves the EU on March 29 without a withdrawal agreement in place, his rights to residency and employment in Spain will become subject to the jurisdiction of Spanish laws on non-EU nationals working in the country.
Under the terms of the agreement drawn up by Prime Minister Theresa May in November, British nationals in the EU would have their current employment rights preserved.
But following an historic defeat for that deal in the House of Commons on Tuesday, the UK's relationship with Europe is facing a deeply uncertain future - with potentially dire consequences for the 800,000 Brits living and working on the continent.
Speaking to ESPN , Bale's agent, Johnathan Barnett, said he and his client "would wait and see what happens," adding that he was "hopeful" that an agreement could be reached whilst acknowledging it is "impossible to plan" under the circumstances.
There are approximately 300,000 UK nationals living and working in Spain, amongst them Manchester Cityyoungster Patrick Roberts, on loan this season at Girona.
In order to continue working in Spain under a no-deal departure for the UK, they would need to obtain work permits.
The British embassy in Madrid has already urged UK nationals in the country to begin the process of registering for the appropriate documents, so that they might steal a march on the chaos which is likely to follow.
But there is hope. Juan Ignacio Navas of legal experts Navas & Cusi Abogados Madrid told ESPN: "There is Spanish legislation which cover the rights and liberties of non-EU nationals in Spain.
"The foreign player would need to get permission from the Spanish government in order to live and work in Spain. Put simply, they would need to get a license to work in Spain.
"But we have a law that if you buy a house for half a million euro, or you have a 'special' job, it is easier."
